Thought Process(es)

So I've discovered that there is a definite difference between people who read science fiction and people who do not.  These differences lie in the imagination and in the ability to accept the farther-out ideas in the realm of not-quite-possibilities (-but-we're-considering-them-anyway-just-because).  These aren't the only things, but it's just something I've noticed.  And maybe it's just me and my friends; I don't know.  And I'm not saying that people who don't read science fiction have no imagination or anything like that because broad generalizations as such are so regularly false I daren't make them.  But with two of my best friends, neither of whom read science fiction, it seems as though they have this particular... imaginative block that stops them from seeing an entire range of possible paths.  Not that I always see those paths either, but that's beside the point.  Plus, they actually have to question the reality of my completely bizarro stories that have no point at all and are merely for entertainment value because they're not physically possible by the laws of physics and et cetera that we've come to understand!  But it's science fiction!  It doesn't have to make sense!  Haha.  Maybe I'm just crazy.  That's probably far more likely, haha.  Whatever.  But still!  Watch your science-fiction-reading and non-sci-fi reading friends and see if there's any consistent differences.  If all of your friends do or don't, you might have a problem.  Sorry. There are never any emails in my sendit inbox!  )=
That's what I get for not using it, huh?  Ah well.

I still have no prom date.  But it's okay.  I'll (hopefully) have one by the end of next Monday... If not the guy I actually WANT to ask, theeeeen someone else.  Speech meet.  It'll work.  Hopefully.  There's got to be SOMEBODY that'd be okay with a blind date, right?
The thing is, (the guy I want to ask)'s prom is the same day as mine.  So if he wants to go to his, then we're kinda screwed, because I REALLY want to go to mine.  My best friends are at mine, and... yeah... I just REALLY want to be there with them... So we'll see.  And I'ma ask him anyway, and if it comes to a "well, mine's the same day and I have a date already" I'ma just say I forgot. haha... oi... Oh well.  I'll find a date. It'll happen.  (At least that's what I tell myself.)

Aaaaaaand... yeah... that's about it.

Until next time,

It's Wednesday!

...What's Wednesday mean?  I completely just forgot... music monday, intro tuesday.... fucker... [storms out to check, grumbling]  BOOKS!!  That's it.  I forgot, obviously.  Whoops. My bad.

So I finished How I Became Stupid, and I liked the ending a whole lot.  It was quite amusing, as a matter of fact... although it did seem a little unfinished.  I think I give it....4.3 stars. (Of 5, obviously.)
Still reading Mistral's Kiss, but I'm almost done with it.
Deathwish is still just kinda sitting in the pile of stuff I carry everywhere...waiting for me to get to it.  Sorry, Cal; I'll read you eventually.

Today I think I'll talk about Generation Dead, and the sequel, A Kiss of Death--which I haven't finished yet, obviously.  Generation dead is about how all of a sudden, teenagers are dying...but not really.  They're coming back as zombies--ahem, my bad, "living impaired."--and some of them function quite well, others hardly at all.  They talk slow, have monotone-voices, and are, of course, quite pale.  However.  Anyway, there's a lot of controversy over the whole dead-kid issue thing and whether they were now citizens or not or whatever.  Some of them don't want to be with "the beating-hearts" and some of them do.  It's hard to really describe.  Regardless, the plot and writing style make it a really intense read, keeping you on pins and needles page after page until you've burned through the whole thing and you're left sitting there going, "Hey, hang on a minute!"
So then you get your hand on the sequel, A Kiss of Life.  And the intensity hasn't dropped at all.  It's still pins and needles through this thing--it's a wonder I got it put down, haha.  I guarantee, it'll be the first I pick up when I need another book.

So that's it for the week!  Short, I know.  I'm sorry.

Until next time, with love,
